Born to Run by Christopher McDougall
This was the first book that I read that inspired me to start running, and to stick to it. It is a story about a man that always had his own trouble running because of injuries, and who sought for a way to remedy it. He heard a story about an ancient tribe of "running people" in the desert canyons of Mexico who had run for generations, and knew the secrets to running. He traveled a long way to meet these people and to learn that running is not something we do, it is who we are. These book is awesome and this is only a tiny taste of the knowledge and experience that can be gained from this book.

Ultramarathon Man by Dean Karnazes
I loved this book! Dean, to me, was an average Joe that stepped out and became something awesome! This book details many of the adventures and trials he went through to become an ultramarathon runner. What I loved the most was the honesty. He never hides the pain and the reality associated to running, but leaves it out for everyone to understand so that they, too, can overcome it. Incredibly inspiring and a very inspirational book.

Eat and Run by Scott Jurek
The way this book is written is what interested me the most. It was not only an account about his life and victories, but also a vegan cook book as well! Scott Jurek is an amazing runner but he does it on a vegan diet, which is even more impressive. Throughout the book he describes the highs and lows of his life and how he continually fought through them to achieve ultramarathon greatness. All the while, he became an awesome vegan cook and shares several of his recipes. Great book!
